While living in Bunia, DR Congo, I witnessed the most amazing hair-styles on women and young girls, including what the Congolese call the “satellite” design. This came with numerous variations from awesome to ugly. After watching Chris Rock’s documentary “Good Hair”, we began to use this term when spotting beautiful hair designs, or pointing out women who were “getting good reception”.
